Dear FBBC family,
“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42
This Sunday will mark the 11th Sunday that we have not had in-person meetings on Sunday due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I hope and trust it will be the last!
I am grateful to the Lord that we have still been able to fellowship in the word of God, in prayer, and in other ways through this time. I am looking forward to being and able to enjoy the Lord’s table again soon when we gather together!
We are finalizing preparation to begin services again and hope tentatively to be able to begin next week. In our current climate with public health concerns there will need to be some changes that I trust will help us feel safe. Please be patient as this is something we have never done before. We do have the advantage of observing and talking to other pastors and churches who have already taken the step of beginning to meet again. If you have some concern, please express that to me or one of the deacons. We are doing our best to think through everything necessary to keep everyone safe. Of course, we need to pray that the Lord will keep us safe since He is sovereign over all that we are going through.
I know not everyone will join us immediately when we begin meeting again. Some have definite health concerns and even medical advisors who are cautioning them. Let’s be loving and understanding with one another, and let’s continue to pray that the Lord will give us the ability to serve one another.
I anticipate that this coming week’s schedule will look much like last week, but in the Lord’s will our desire is to be able to begin meeting in person again on Sunday, May 31.
In Jesus Christ,
Joel Huffstutler, Ph.D.
